Terms that fit your organization

Different organizations use differing terms to refer to the same things. So making OnTime use the right terms in your business is important in making the software clearer to your employees and customers. OnTime allows you to change several major terms to be whatever is needed. For instance a shipment may be referred to as order, shipment, package, or freight; whatever best fits your organization. These changes are carried across your entire organization so that everyone sees the terms you choose.

Change terms used in OnTime

  1. From OnTime Management Suite, go to the Tools menu and choose General Options.
  2. Go to the Terminology tab.
  3. Change any of the existing terms to a word or phrase desired. (Be sure to capitalize the first letter in order to preserve a professional appearance across OnTime.)
  4. Click OK to save the change.
  5. Perform a synchronization with the server to propagate your changes out to others in the organization.
  6. Depending on the terms changed, you may want to restart OnTime Management Suite in order to refresh your display. Other users in the organization will see the new terms when they next perform a synchronization with the OnTime server and then restart their copy of the OnTime application.
