Searching Across Lists

Search is an important way to find pertinent information fast. In the fast paced world of transportation and logistics, it is all the more important. Throughout OnTime Management Suite there is a unified way of searching the lists of data. This makes it easy and consistent to search for the data you need to see.

Using general search

In the upper left corner of OnTime Management Suite is a search box as shown here:

This box is context sensitive, meaning that typing into it will search the list of records that is currently displayed. The search runs in real-time, so as you type you will see the results appearing in the list. The fields included in the search vary from list to list, but general include the most appropriate fields. For instance, when searching on customers the Contact Name and Company fields are compared.

The search terms are remembered when switching between lists so that each list can have it's own filter at any given time. To quickly clear the search, click the X on the right side of the search box. This will remove the filter and once again show all records in the list currently displayed.

An exception to this general search is the tracking view, which has it's own, more advanced searching interface. This leads to the general search being disabled when displaying the tracking view.
