How to Assign a Formula Driven Base and Shipping Price to a Product in a Microvellum CUT File

Article ID: 1009

SUMMARY

Applies to: SellingPoint Product Manager (version 4)

This article describes how to further automate the import process from a Microvellum Overdrive Library to SellingPoint by specifying formula driven values for the base price and shipping price associated with a product.

MORE INFORMATION

Begin by opening the desired product CUT file in a spreadsheet editing program such as Microsoft Excel and switch to the "Prompts" sheet.

To specify the shipping price of the product:

  1. Locate the section containing hidden prompts.  Visible prompts are separated by hidden prompts by an empty row, so the hidden prompts section will start with the first row after an empty row.
  2. Add a new row column with "A" containing "Base Price Formula" and column "B" containing the formula that will calculate the base price.
  3. Add a new row column with "A" containing "Shipping Price Formula" and column "B" containing the formula that will calculate the shipping price.
  4. Optionally add 2 more rows with "spUseBasePriceFormula" and "spUseShippingPriceFormula" in column "A" and then a value of either "1" (on) or "0" (off) to indicate whether the respective formula or static price should be used.

The following is a screen shot of a sample CUT file with the modified prompts page:

This screen shot indicates the following:

  • The base price of the product will be equal to the Width (specified by the user) multiplied by 10.  In the case where the width is 18", the resulting price would be $180.00.
  • The shipping price of the product will be equal to the Width (specified by the user) multiplied by 5.  In the case where the width is 18", the resulting price would be $90.00.
  • "spUseBasePriceFormula" is set to "1" which tells SellingPoint that it should automatically use the formula instead of the static base price.
  • "spUseShippingPriceFormula" is set to "1" which tells SellingPoint that it should automatically use the formula instead of the static shipping price.
